Oud Zuid luxury apartment
Lozinski Architecten was entrusted with the task of elevating an apartment in the prestigious Oud Zuid district of Amsterdam to new heights of luxury and sophistication. The design approach seamlessly blended traditional architectural detailing with contemporary minimalism, resulting in a space that harmonized history with modernity.
Preserving the timeless allure of the location, Lozinski Architecten made deliberate decisions to retain and enhance the traditional architectural detailing of the ceilings. Ornate moldings and classic patterns adorned the ceilings, reflecting the grandeur of the Oud Zuid district and infusing the space with an air of historic elegance.
In the pursuit of a luxurious ambiance, a traditional elegant oak wood herringbone parquet was selected for the flooring. The parquet not only added opulence to the living spaces but also contributed to a warm and inviting atmosphere. The carefully chosen palette of elegant light grey and neutral tones provided a sophisticated backdrop, allowing the traditional and contemporary elements to coexist seamlessly.
The kitchen emerged as a striking feature within the apartment, characterized by a dark monolithic volume. This bold choice not only added a sense of drama but also served as a contemporary focal point, harmonizing with the overall design scheme while making a statement of modern luxury.
To introduce an industrial and modern touch, cold-rolled steel sheet was used as a backsplash in the kitchen. This material not only added a dynamic element to the design but also created a sleek and reflective surface, playing with light and shadows to enhance the contemporary feel of the space.
A standout feature in the bathroom was the custom-designed ceiling-mounted bathtub faucet. This bespoke element not only showcased the commitment to unique and personalized design but also contributed to the overall aesthetic of modern luxury. The bathroom fixtures, in general, followed a theme of contemporary design, balancing form and function to create a space that exuded sophistication.
In terms of functionality, the interior design incorporated energy-efficient fireplace solutions, ensuring both environmental consciousness and an elegant focal point. Additionally, the inclusion of invisible and space-saving underfloor heating enhanced the overall comfort of the space while maintaining a seamless and unobtrusive aesthetic.
